Hello im new to Blender and wanted to know if there is any way to change the way blender does rotations and make it like in every other 3D Software that i can rotate things via the Rotation Manipulator’s without pressing any hotkey. Second i would like to know how to set up translation snaps like in Maya where there is a snapping menu to set up for example 1cm or 0.2cm snapping while moving a vertex/edge/object/whatever, which also applies to rotation but of course with angular percentage. Without this 2 functions blender is more or less unusable for me.

If you set the axis to local and then shift click each of the move/rotate/scale buttons the manipulator will do as you wish.
