Hi, so this is my Blender Animation Challenge #1 short thing. I’m posting it here for you guys criticise without polute the Challenge thread.

I’m a litlle rusty in animation, but I’ts still my favourit thask
the first shot is reaaly poor
Any critics are welcome
Good animation. I really like your titles. They have alot of personality.
very good work rogper,
Squarebeaulieu
Nice Animation, Nice expressions. But please don’t kill him in the end.
kkrawal:
Thanks!
His not dead, jus K.O.
Nathanael:
Thanks!
The titles are for comical relief
Ho, the original .blend file is now in the vimeo page for download
Needs some sound. I liked it though. I’m working on two aliens for a short anim and I know what it takes. Blender has some nice features that help to save on time, like the shape keys and the pose libs.

Everyone has is limitations, my are everything related to sound, I can’t tel the difference between a Orange and a Flute (not that bad but you know what I mean :P)
I never animated much with other pakages, but I love blender animation tools, The IPO editor in combination with the Action Editor and NLA editor can do wounders
Thanks and good luck with your short! Hope to see it
I kinda know what you mean about sound. When I was learning to program on my C= 64 many years ago I skipped over the sound part. Was only interested in the graphics. Anyway one thing you may want to try for sound is to play the anim while you try to pick up something heavy in time with it. Record the sounds you make and then add the track to Blender. This way you get some authentic sounds.
In the past I’ve animated with two other packages. Sculpt Animate 4D and Imagine. I liked Imagine more because of how it handled objects and materials. Sculpt just allowed you to pick shiny and glass and metal. Imagine allowed you to define it from the ground up. This is why I love Blender. You get all that power and more to boot. When I work with it, I still can’t believe it’s freeware. It gives you results that rival commercial software.

hmmm…but he did not lift the ball :-\ ?
The rules say any weight, that must includes too much weight
still it should be lifted…:-\ “Lift the ball and have fun with it”
Great animation and cool idea! Maybe you should slow down the replay and make it even more slowmo.
@blenderguy2008 it is perfectly alright as he is trying to lift the ball. I allready said in another thread that he does not have to succeed in lifting it it just has to be clear that he tried.
Musk:
Thanks musk!
About the slow motion I’ve considered make it Bullet Time looking
something like when Morpheus Jumps to the Helicopter, the time would be like 20 times slower and the camera would travel from the initial to final position without cuts… but well I abandoned the idea… it’s 5 times slower then normal already and the more slower I tried more impact details would be need to add, like when Neo punches Agent Smith in Revolutions (sorry about all this The Matrix references, it’s because they have real good slow motions :P), otherwise it looks badly animated.
…And this was my first slow motion scene ever hehe :o
This competition was great I tested allot of things doing this and I was able to animate, boy I’ve missed it  Thanks for the initiative musk
Nicely done, I like his face expression…
Oh! Haven’t seen that thread…a bit confusing for those who don’t know. Anyways good luck !
Thanks ecgilboy and blenderguy2008!
Yeah it’s hard to setup all rules up front and make them clear. The idea behind the whole rule set is basically to get the people to be creative while still giving enough guidance for everybody to participate.
Nice animation.
