Heyo, I was making this angel character and I’m currently trying to make hair for her. Although familiar with how unreliable the physics for the hair is I was wondering if there was a way you could manually control the hair particles or clumps or hair in animation instead of waiting for hours for the physics engine to whip up unsatisfactory results. I’m currently using the older version: 2.49. fast Render time and low memory are my primary goals currently.
I was looking at this tutorial:
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:Manual/Physics/Soft_Bodies/Combination_with_armatures
and I was wondering if anything like that could be applied to hair…
hmmm… you may not be able to assign armatures to particles, but you can do it for meshes. You can convert your hair particles to a mesh.
Not sure about rendering though. Should work…
Or you could model your hair in this way, which is quicker to render and simulate:
