Both file and your question are a bit confusing, I’m afraid…
Why is the file set to use Blender Render when the material is a Cycles node material?
Which render engine do you intend to use?
What do you need mapping coordinates for, if the UVs seem to fit the image texture (which you forgot to include, btw) perfectly?
Care to elaborate?
Hallo Ikari
Im really still just trying to learn about textures and am a bit lost obviously. Im using to much information from different sources and am getting abit confused.
In the video im following now she links up the UW to the texture in mapping. i cant find mapping in my menu. Its this video
at 2.51 minuites she hooks up the UW to the texture. but i doint have mapping in my menu.

That’s because you’re using a Cycles’ node-based material in Blender Render.
The material systems of both render engines are not compatible. That’s why you need to decide which engine to use.
If you want to stay in Cycles, you don’t need a mapping node, as Cycles uses UV coordinates by default. If you want to switch to Blender Render, you will have to turn off “Use Nodes” for the respective material.
