Mapping options in Cycles

I can’t seem to find anything like box mapping for a texture. Were these ever included in Cycles? I have three faces in a object, do I really need to use UV mapping?

ps. Mapping node shows different size for texture in viewport vs. rendering. It’s a bug, right?

This is a flat projection with z rotation trick which I tried first.


This is a box projection. Both show different size for texture and with box projection that right side face is empty!
