Mapping see through textures...

I did it once before, but I forgot how… how do I apply a texture, and have blender remove the black from it, so it is see through? that way, I can just have a rectangle, and magically, it becomes a chain link fence? just wondering what the material settings are…

In the texture window, load an image. There is a button in that same window called “calc Alpha”. Click it. Then, back in the material window, hit the green “Alpha” button on the far right, slide the Alpha slider to 0 for the material to 0, and hit the “ZTransp” button that is right next to it.

Though it would probably be better to create your image with an alpha channel from scratch and then use “UseAlpha” …
