March Of The Hydra - Complete - Fixed Image

Hi, I have now re-rendered my old model, and have moved it to finished projects, given that now I am completely finished and have moved on to a new project, so I will have no time to re-render, Here it is!
In Greek mythology, the Lernaean Hydra (Greek: Λερναία Ὕδρa) was an ancient nameless serpent-like water beast (as its name evinces) that possessed many heads — the poets mention more heads than the vase-painters could paint, and for each head cut off it grew two more — and poisonous breath so virulent even her tracks were deadly.

very nice

Looks good, well done. However, I feel that the untextured rock lets it down.

Looks great! I agree that the rock needs to be textured, but Hydras are awesome! They’re one of my favorite creature types in Magic: The Gathering!

I second that, I like -Magic- Hydra’s too

Is there a larger resolution render? From what I can see, great Hydra and clouds, and rock needs at least a bump map.

I added a new hi res image… It 10MB tho…

Thanks for the higher resolution pic. The hydra looks great. Looks like it’s made of metal.

The clouds, while they look nice, look slightly blurred. Definitely a shame about the rock. Good work, again.

THanks, its rendered in octane and im not reli that good as far as stone shaders go… Any suggestions?

There’s some great looking stone materials in Octane’s LiveDB, check them out.

will do, is there any way to export to octane directly from blender?

Heroes 3 Much?

Yep, check out Octane’s Liscened Customer forum, under Blender. Should be an exporter script there. (http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=5662)

The metal materials look very nice! Good job.

I saw this in the WIP a while back. It turned out really good! Nice work!
