Marcus

Hi firends. Marcus is a real person. He’s an example of a digi double. Scanned by @digitalrealitylab. I cleaned and sculpted in zbrush. I created the texturing and shader in mari. I did the grooming in xgen. I did the rendering with arnold. The lighting was provided by caveacedemy. I got it from 3dscanstore for basemesh. I used BLENDER. Don’t lynch

the process description was not clear about that… Arnold on Maya? Arnold on Max? Arnold on Blender, Arnold on C4D ?
IMO if there is no blender at all in the pipe… It’s not the place to post it.

Hmm yes you have it in your portfolio on AS… and used it for grooming for daisy and tagged used software blender for Rey… and was so happy about your work and posted it here and forgot that you didn’t used blender for this? Caveacedemy is a course for blender or any other software (did just a short look) ?? Don’t get me wrong i’m not intending to pull your work down (or even yourself). It’s only: what’s the connection to blender here? (Even telling: Finnaly i did something without blender to make my way in the profi liga is some kind of connection… )

Hello Okidoki. Your comments are an honor for me. Caveacademy is not a software. It only offers resources. I used the blender program in the eye model. But what does it matter. There is no rule in the forum that only the blender program will be used. The same applies to other forums. Just see what’s shared. Sorry if i was rude. Again thanks <3

It’s not that you’re only allowed to post things made entirely in Blender, it’s that when you initially listed the software used for different parts of the project, it sounded like you didn’t use Blender at all since you didn’t mention Blender at all. It seemed to be 100% made in other software - even rendering, so it didn’t really make sense that you would post it on BlenderArtists.

Now that you’re saying you used Blender for the eyes, so it makes a little more sense to post here.

I soryyy. I didn’t expect people on the forum to take it so seriously. I guess it’s best to share without further explanation. Thank you very much for the feedback…

No one’s trying to lynch you. When you described your workflow, you forgot to mention Blender at all when explaining your workflow, which left the impression that Blender wasn’t used at all, so it seemed odd that you would post it in a Blender forum. I don’t think anyone meant for you to feel attacked. (Edit: I’m aware I can occasionally come across as unintentionally “combative”, but that is not my intent in either post in this thread)

So, I don’t think intentionally misleading people by omission is the solution here. (Apologies, but I can’t find a politer way to describe posting an image that barely used Blender without explanation so that people will think it is primarily made with Blender).

As an alternative I would suggest simply remembering to mention what Blender was used for when describing your workflow. If you feel that Blender is such a small part of your workflow it isn’t worth mentioning, then perhaps you should rethink how you’re approaching things, but I don’t think anyone here said the image isn’t welcome because Blender wasn’t used enough. You simply didn’t mention using Blender at all, which naturally left the impression that Blender wasn’t used at all.

It was an innocent miscommunication, the solution to which is simply better communication.
