I’ve been trying to get into 3d painting several times, but for some reason it never clicked for me.
I barely tried with Blender, mostly with some add-ons, which I always found to be very confusing, probably due to their cluttered UI.
I then tried Substance Painter, which almost worked. The problem I have with SP is that I don’t find myself comfortable working with its UI, which I know it may sound strange considering it’s very clear. I guess it must be my resistance to Adobe programs, which is growing on a daily basis
Quixel Mixer didn’t work either, I guess it’s still too limited in terms of painting features. Maybe I should give it another try.
I have the trial for 3D Coat Textura installed, though the workflow doesn’t seem too intuitive, especially about masks.
Lastly, I just installed Marmoset Toolbag 4 trial, and to my surprise it seems the right middle ground for all the above-mentioned options (definitely faster than 3D Coat Textura, and more intuitive).
I wonder if anyone here is using it for texturing as an SP alternative, what are the thoughts about it, pros/cons. More in general, I’d be curious to hear your opinions about the options I mentioned.
