Hi, I can’t find the Masonry add-on in Blender 2.65 it’s i can’t find it in blender extensions it says the download link not found ?
If the masonry addon you’re refering to is this :
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Extensions:2.6/Py/Scripts/Add_Mesh/Masonry
It’s now included in the Building Object addon (that regroup several CAD mesh addons from before)
https://svn.blender.org/svnroot/bf-extensions/contrib/py/scripts/addons/add_mesh_building_objects/
It’s a contrib addon (so not included in the stable release of 2.65) , but soon there will be a contrib addon pack if you don’t want to download a buildbot version of Blender (that usually include all contrib addons)
Thanks that mean if I downloaded Blender from here I will get it http://builder.blender.org ?
You should.
But i remember talks about the svn being frozen for a few days after an official release, and as 2.65 was just released so maybe you should wait a few days in case the versions on the buildbot are not yet up to date regarding the contrib addons.
Thanks for replaying, I am downloading it now to see if it’s there.
Bad luck, its not there…
Try this.
Download the attached building_objects.zip
Extract that archive, you should have a folder named “add_mesh_building_objects” inside the “building_object” folder that the extracting have created
Move that folder named “add_mesh_building_objects” to your
…\blender-2.65\2.65\scripts\addons
folder , so you obtain
…\blender-2.65\2.65\scripts\addons\add_mesh_building_objects\
Start Blender, go to file -> user preferences -> addons, in the add mesh category, you should find the entry “Add Mesh : Building Object”
Enable this addon, and in your Add menu you should find under Building Object the wall factory that is the sams as the masonry addon.

Thank you very much, it worked!
hello, I work with Blender 2.66a ( r55078 ) .
I would like to use the masonry /building objects addon .
I downloaded, unzipped and copy/paste the building_object.zip in the addon directory of Blender .and even if Isee it now in the directory , I can’t find it in the blender addon’s interface .
Anyone has an idea of what I did wrong ??
thanks for your help .
-
Make sure you have followed exactly this :
-
Download the building_object.zip
-
Extract it , this will create a folder named “building_object”
-
Inside this “building_object” folder you will see another folder named exactly “add_mesh_building_objects”
-
Take that folder “add_mesh_building_objects” and move it to
…\blender-2.66a\2.66\scripts\addons\
So it looks like that
…\blender-2.66a\2.66\scripts\addons\add_mesh_building_objects\
Now in File -> User Preferences -> Addon you should find the “Add Mesh : Building Object” in the Add Mesh category
NOTE : if you download a version of Blender from the buildbot, the addon is already in. But in the File -> User Preferences you need to enable the “Testing” button to see it in the “Add Mesh” category
…
I copied/pasted the whole file named "building_object " …:spin:
now i pasted the right file named “add_mesh_building_objects” and I see it in the addon menu …
really sorry about that Sanctuary …
thanks a lot and have a nice sunday
I downloaded the zip and when i loaded up the init file in the text editor (my addons tab isn’t working), I got an error on the line:
“from . import add_mesh_balcony”
Any ideas?
Thanks Sir. It worked.

I know this is and old thread but it is the most recent one I could find about the Masonry wall addon. I am going to try to add the output of the zip that this thread linked to into BF Blender 2.69 I will let you know the results.
Got the same error you have @Anduin if you zip all the files of the addon, then tell blender to install from file, on the addon menu, then select the zipped file you created form the files we downloaded, then you can tick and execute the addon, however once I close blender and re start the app, the addon is un ticked (grayed out) and if i try to enable it this time it gives me that same balcony error, at least I can use the addon, I uninstall it and re install it each time I load blender, but I gotta say I’m really puzzled as to why its doing this.
