Hopefully this is the right forum section to post this question:
I’m currently working on a video project where I need to create tons of wooden boxes piled on top of each other, in a trash yard sort of way. Here’s an example of what I have done in my own tests:
I just used 3 different boxes for the test, as you can see there are lots of repeats. I will be modeling more. So I have 2 questions:
-
Is there a more memory efficient way to do this that copying the boxes over and over until I have enough, because my pc is having trouble breathing during this project.
-
The way I have been doing it is by setting all the boxes up with rigid body physics, setting them above the ground, and letting them fall with the “record physics to ipo” option turned on. However this option isn’t the greatest because I would rather not have the animation of them falling and rather just have them lying on the ground!
You guys are the experts so I come to you for help! I appreciate ANY help you may be able to offer. Thanks!
