massive linked duplicate - what get's better?

imagine there are 1.000.000 (or other reasonable large number) cubes linked duplicate. if on the original cube i delete 2 faces, what will change?

only memory consumption?
also render time?

If you edit the mesh it will change all of them. Simply try it dude. Duh. Put the cube in edit mode, select a vertex and move it. Wow, I’m moving a million verticies at once!

I think what he is saying is that if you delete one vertex on a linked cube, then you would be deleting one million vertices all together. He wants to know how this would effect performance. (Correct me if I’m wrong, lightning.)

yep, thats what i want to know. if nobody knows i will have to try it and measure it but i thought that somebody might know by heart.
