Material Baking Blender 2,71 Cycles


I have a scene. I can render the entire scene in 5 hours to 600 samples at 1920 x 1920. But is taking over 4 hours just to bake two objects in my scene to 600 samples with texture size set to 2048 x 2048. The objects are a small reception desk and some stair stringers. Does this seem right?

You are baking to the texture map size, and not just the scene size. Samples then are having to deal with that whole texture size, and at 600 samples you are going to be waiting awhile.
