Hey all 
Well, when I started learning Blender, my first repository of tutorials for the very basics was the Wikibook, Blender: From noob to pro
I´ve also seen my first materials there:

But the collection of materials there was quite poor 
As I also suck at making materials,
I just wanted to ask if some of you Blenderheads could add some.
I think this would help many newbies, just to get a little feeling how one could archieve some good materials.
If somebody agrees with my oppinion, just go for it and add some materials
