Material cycle to Image

I have made a model that I need to convert the materials into an image so I can use it elsewhere. I have tried to bake using diffuse but it seems that I have a lot of dark places on it for what it is. Is it just taking it from the camera view?

Does anyone know how to take all the materials and turn it into an image?
