Material for a "clay" render

Hello,

Could somebody direct me to a decent node setup/material for a “clay” render? When I say “clay”, I’m not referring to the look of modelling clay. Rather, the material which helps in visualizing topography in a test render. For the life of me, I can’t find any resources.

I’d imagine this isn’t a terribly complex material. But I’m sure it’s also more than a simple warm, grey diffuse with zero reflection. Maybe, maybe not?

Thanks!

Does using Matcap and OpenGL render suit your needs?
1- Hit N, enable Shading>Matcap
2- Render>OpenGL Render Image

I was referring to something different BUT this is a cool trick. Thank you!

After a little more research I think I found what I was looking for.
