Hi
I am trying to import a VRML 97 file into Blender. While importing, the names of materials are lost and if 2 objects shared the same material in the VRML file, they now have 2 different materials. So if they were sharing “material” in VRML, they have 2 materials “material 1” and “material 2” in Blender. IS there a way to retain the Material names? I can modify the script to not loose common materials if there were a way to retain material names.
