Good day,
I am new to Blender and to 3D modeling as a whole.
I managed to model a sniper rifle stock and assign few materials to it, but one of the objects (the monopod) don’t render correctly. This object is built with some slightly modified cylinders added in “Edit Mode”. I am using LuxRender for rendering and I am not sure but I think the material type I’m using got something to do with LuxRender too. It seems that the glossy material isn’t assigned to two of the cylinders, they don’t appear glossy both in the “Object Mode” and in the “UV/Image Editor”.
Hello, I am pretty new to Blender as well. I might suggest that you use Cycles Render instead, as things (such as what you are making) tend to turn out better like that. Make sure that you are in edit mode (you cannot add materials in Object Mode) and make sure that all of your faces (Or all of the ones that you want colored) are selected…then click ‘Assign’. And when you are selecting your faces, make sure that you are in face select mode… I do not know if this is what you needed, but I hope this helps.
Hello @1drousCre8tions, thank you for the reply. I removed all the materials and tried adding them in “Edit Mode”. After rendering, everything seems to be just fine with the exception of the shown in the picture.
My guess is that this problem has something to do with the LuxRender. The problem is that I kind of like the results I get, and would like to stay with Lux but I guess it wont hurt to try Cycles too.
There is something strange that I saw yesterday. The button for creating/adding new material slot doesn’t do anything leaving the list empty.
