Material Rendering

Hello everyone, I am in need of some help and/or suggestions.

No matter what I do I can’t seem to get the texture on my model(doesn’t matter what model) to look the same in the final render as it does in the little ‘material preview’ render.

I’ve been messing with so many different lighting setups but nothing really helps, my model in the final render has no depth at all, where the ‘material preview’ looks simply amazing.

I’m new at 3-point lighting, but I followed a tutorial and still got the same results. I’ve also tried ambient occlusion, and just random lights with sooo many different settings. I’ve spent hours messing around with it already.

So please if anyone can offer some guidance, it is MUCH appreciated!

Thanks!

Please post images or, better yet, a blend file for us to look at (be sure to pack your textures). There are lots and lots of things that might not be working based on your description above; it will be hard to help without more specific info.

Thanks for the reply! Here is a link to my .blend file!

I couldn’t link to a filehost site so I attached my .blend file after I reduced the size of it. I hope the materials are still in it…please let me know if there are any issues.corpusmalignus.blend (741 KB)

preview is only preview what you see there is only an approximation and not equvialent to a render
the only important thing is the render itself !

happy 2.5

Thanks, Ricky.

Are there any ways I could get my final render CLOSER to looking like the preview?

A quick play gave something closer.
For each texture the mapping was changed to Generated and the size from 0.5 to 4.0
With more tweaking you should be able to get closer to the original texture preview.
