Material texture won't show up in render

I downloaded this texture file from a site listed on the Blender site:

I’m trying to use the chrome material, but the texture image doesn’t show up in the render. In fact, it only even shows up in the preview when the texture panel is active - but the preview in the regular material view excludes the texture. I tried unpacking and re-loading the image, re-saving the image as a .bmp in stead of .jpg, … I don’t know what else to do. I am using Blender v2.42a

Can anyone tell me how to get this material to render properly?

In the Shaders tab in F5 turn Ref up to 1. In MapTo tab turn on Col.
