Hey Everyone,
I’m making a terrain and have run into a slight snag when texturing. I’m using texture stenciling with my material to transition between grass and dirt and was wondering if it’s possible to have the entire material visible in the Textured view instead of a single texture?
I’d like to paint the stencil layer in the uv window while seeing real-time updates of how it looks so I can adjust accordingly. It gets a bit tedious hitting the rend button to view changes and approximate my results. Is this possible, or something similar possible?
in UV window create new image ( name it e.g. StencilMap)
add texture with StencilMap image between other two textures, check Stencil and NoRGB and uncheck Col and other channels
in UV window check View>Update Automatically
set viewport to Textured and paint in UV/Image window.
You can paint directly onto your object - just unwrap your terrain object so UV grid covers StencilMap image in UV window , go to TexturePaint mode and check Project Paint (it should be enabled by default).
Use back/white to mask texture and click on PackAsPNG button to prevent image loss.
If you had further questions just post.
