Measure an objects Size and then scale and position a second mesh relative

Hi All,

I hope someone can help or point me in the right direction.

I have an object (actually a text object). I need to position another object relative to the text object and I need to scale this object to fit exactly under the original text object.

I am sure with the power of blender it is easy to script this but I am not sure where to start.

Any ideas?

The size of an object can be determined by the dimensions property of the object.

import bpy

ob = bpy.data.objects.get("Cube")
print(ob.dimensions)

However, when working with text there is often an aesthetic consideration based upon font weight and surrounding letters. That is why kerning and leading was invented.
