I have modeled a lampfloor and set the measurement metric and cm as seen in the screen shot.
Exported with the 3D Printing tool and opened with netfabb keep getting wrong scale in 0.1 mm instead of cm.
Also I keep getting non manifold errors should I apply all modifiers first?
Most printing software allows you to change your scale within it, otherwise you might need to experiment and multiply by 10 in blender.
Usually when you export a mesh the modifiers are applied, and I think that is the case here. Your problem is with the edge split modifier, when it is applied it (As the name implies) splits the mesh into two non manifold pieces. So Iyou need to remove the edge split from the stack and work with bevel, or add supporting loops for connected geometry.
Thanks I did not apply the modifiers but the eye is selected. Blender works in unit which i set to metric and applied the object scale. So I still do not understnd why I have to increase the scale before exporting. Followed a cgcookie tutorial and it should work.
Unfortunately not for me.
When you export in .stl in the screen where you select where to save it, on the left are options. One of them is ‘apply modifers?’ which is checked by default so you are in fact applying the modifers by default (With stl)
I found out that the right measurement within blender set choose scene - Units - Centimeter and Length
to Metric. Then choose File Export- stl and set the scale to 1000 ( do not select scene unit )
