Measurement Unit not showing up in 3D view

Hi all, I’m not actually a beginner, but I’m having a sorta n00b moment right now. Normally in the top left corner of the 3D view I can see a unit measurement telling me what each grid square represents - a millimeter, centimeter, meter, etc…

But for some reason it’s gone now and I don’t know why. Is this a glitch or something simple I overlooked? When I open other projects, it’s there. But for this new project I just started it’s not showing up. Screenshot attached.

A quick reply would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

The cursor location and lens should also show the units. They don’t, so you haven’t set the units in scene properties.

If you appreciate quick replies with actual answers instead of guesses, always provide an example .blend. It’s more important than the problem description.

What you’ve posted there assumes the readers are idiots.

Not sure how what I said comes across as assuming the readers are idiots. But you’re right that the units for this project weren’t set, so thank you for that solution. I thought I had that saved as part of my default scene, but apparently not. If anyone looks like an idiot, it’s me, as it was in fact something simple that I overlooked.

Two things.

You posted a screenshot and you’re saying you’ve attached a screenshot.

You’re also highlighting what top left corner of the 3d view means, after saying

You save time by using images to add information instead of repeating it, and only highlighting non-obvious but relevant things. Images only help you with the problem description, they don’t usually show the cause of the problem or even give a hint. If you knew to include those, you wouldn’t need to ask.

Full interface screenshots for explaining, and an example .blend which includes enough to repeat the problem is the fastest route to clear answers. Time spent preparing a file comes back as saved time when you get answers instead of guesses and checking through many of those, clearer and shorter replies as they can include visuals specific to your problem. It might also mean multiple solutions because the .blend enables people to work the problem, which engages the community more.

Probably useful information for your future questions.
