Thanks
S68: Ack. forgot the ‘I’ for the subject.
Gr8RedShark: Its one of the hdr images from the HDR shop program.
Thats amazing! Great detail. I don’t imagine robot arms being so smooth, but you have made this one look great.
Looking good! Fear the Terminator!..
now thats some badass nipple-poker! nice render!
Thanks for all the comments.
I finally got the Mech Arm animated with Yafray and HDRI lighting.
Warning: Lots of Chrome!

Render time: you really don’t want to know.
Wow! That looks excellent in motion. The animation of the different interconnected parts looks great.
Go on, tell us the render time. I bet it’s something monstrous…

Render time: over 60 hours or 15 min / frame; export time 2 hours
Exporting the animation was a real pain. I can only export 10-15 frames at a time. After that they time to export a frame went from 30-60 seconds to 4 minutes. I used several computers to help with the rendering.
Now I just need a body to go with the arm.
Setting up the different fingers with interjoint tubes was a pain to set up.
Very nice
Hand is cool, arm is a bit too ‘sharp’ in its edges.
Yeah, setting tubes is a pain.
