Mecha Medusa bust - Concept I had in my head for about year, but there was always something else popping up so I was postponing it. Had some free time for past couple of days, so here it is, 5 milion polygons later smiling_face. Made completely in Blender - Subd modeling + Handpainting and some slight color correction in post. Rendered in Eevee. Turntables and eevee viewport on my artstation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/140KoZ Hope you like it!
nice work!
Love the work on the NPR look and vibe with it. It really works!!
This is incredible work! The level of detail is amazing! I was wondering about how you achieved this look? Did you use a grease pencil modifier for the line work or the inverse hull method?
Thanks! I handpainted textures, copied them in photoshop and added “darken” layer with solid dark blue color for shadows, later on I made simple “toon/anime” shader (you can find a lot of quick tutorials on this on youtube). For the linework I used inverse hull metod and some of them I painted/alligned in uv’s
I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
Thanks so much for the explanation and linking the detailed breakdown in ArtStation! I’ve seen examples of toon shader use and it didn’t seem like the right method for what I was trying to achieve but your work has me rethinking things. Really appreciate you sharing your art! Looking forward to seeing more!
Awesome. Are panel lines made using deal machine?
amazing work
specially the toon shader shch i am not sure how did you acive it on EEvee
Diffuse shader > shader to RGB > color ramp set to constant
Great design and idea.
Handpainted using texture paint
wow!
Nice colors…
It really impresses me when people combine blender and photoshop so beautifully
I love this character desing and color that sound like some “Ghost in the shell” spirits.
