Medieval castle Archviz

Thanks

The Spottrup Castle (Spøttrup in Danish) is located in Denmark, in the upper part of central Jutland.
While there has been some other buildings, mainly some local taxation center buildings dating to at least the early 15th century, the castle itself was built by bishop Jorgen Friis during the early years of the protestant reformation wave in Denmark, in the 1520’s.

The castle did not look like this back then. It looked more like this:

Reconstruction of the first Spøttrup in the 1520’s

In the 1590’s and throughout the 17th century and 18th century it was modified countless times.
It was finally reconstructed in 1941 as a museum, to preserve all its modifcations (hence you can see where there were originally large arched windows, now walled up).

The interesting thing about Spoettrup is its history and relation to the Danish reformation.
It is also the only preserved medieval* castle in Denmark.

    • In Denmark, the Middle Ages end in 1536 by the protestant reformation.

I’ve now made some slight changes to the render:

What do you think?

I changed the camera perspective, the water and the trees and some of the bricks.
