Medieval style Watermill

Hi all,

the idea of this project was to create a medieval fantasy water mill with its own life. Water mill in the forest on a side road near the dam with a residential function for a miller with his family.

Trees, rocks and grass are from Botaniq addon, flowers are modeled by myself. People are modeled by Makehuman addon.

Main modeling in Blender 2.93 LTS, Cycles render

Very nice scene. I set out to model a mill but didn’t get nearly as far. The mill was to be modeled on Falls Mill in middle Tennessee. I got wrapped up in trying to create a water wheel using mantaflow and blender physics. The model still needs some work but was somewhat realistic in terms of the physics.

Very nice. 1 critique: the unwrapping of the wood on the waterwheel is weird. I’d unwrap it in segments to keep the grain going around. The wheel would have been made in segments anyway, so you’d be accurate (I’m a custom furniture maker of 23 years, so I notice things like that).

are you doing the inside mechanism for some tools too?

only one note
the winter scene is a bit too white
too overloaded with ice and snow
