sigh alas, I would have only just left Melbourne. Heard about this via the local DLF forum. I too would be anxious to see what the Melbournian Blenderheads look like, so film that thing! If I can’t swing a day trip down, I hope to be there in spirits. Who’'ll have a drink for me?

you blokes have a great time. i didn’t realize how many of the talented people were down under. i knew mr ben dan but the rest of you i had no idea. and you can have more than 1 groop down under, you can even have competitions, the tigers vs the crows blender style. if i ever hit the lotto and make it down under i’ll even stop by, and ill buy the beer but you have to pick it out. one of my aussie friends that came to the states said aussie pepsi is stronger than what we call beer. then to add insult to injury i bought him a fosters and learned fosters isn’t “real beer” down under, and our fosters isn’t even aussi fosters.

Hehe. Genuinely hope this takes off, I might have to duck over some time, but I can’t make it to this one. And a big welcome to z0r - hope you get a lot out of the forums!
Another post to reassure you that all is proceeding well on the organisational end, and that the event is shaping up to be some fun. Have secured a camera and a couple of brave souls to present, have also fired off PMs to broken and ideasman42 with hopes of confirming presentations/ talks.
Great to have some interest, looking forward to meeting you all on the 14th. Should be some new and/or infrequent users present, interested parties and a few non-believers, so please remember to pack your friendliest demeanour.
(Side note Will be attending the DLF drinks this Friday if any local Labourers would like to catch up prior to the event.)

I have a reasonable amount of experience with other apps. One suggestion was that I could compare Blender to those apps, but I’m not sure where to begin. I’d feel more comfortable talking with people about how to solve specific problems.

Ok folks- the site is up- I’ll be emailing Blender Nation a little later tonight. Don’t think we will have enough to present every month, z0r. At this point I’m thinking a meeting every 3 months might be a good working model. We’ll talk about it with the others at the DLF drinks

I was wondering the other day if there’d ever be a meet up in melbs…
I wish I could make it, unfortunately a ten hour car trip isn’t going to happen when I’ve only got 3 days to organize. Wish I’d seen this topic sooner. I’ll try to get to the next one. I love Melbourne.
