Hi, I’m tryong to place a 3D model of an archaeological site on a terrain created with BlenderGIS. The thing is I would like for the model to merge seamlesly with the terrain. This is what it looks like:
If i go down more the inside of the model starts disappearing under the terrain. I was trying this this, deleting the area where the model will be located by subdividing and deleting the terrain to be more precise:
After that I think ill vave to join the model with tht terrain by connecting the vertices.
Is this a good way to do it? Is there a better way? Any help is really appreaciated, thanks!
If the inner object has no other non-manifolds than the outer edges you can simply Select All By Trait → Non Manifold and deselect the outer edges of th ebigger grid and simply genearte a face and then triangulate like so:
…otherwise you have to deselect some inner manifolds…
and while i’m typinng this i got another ideas: Try to use bridge edge loop feature. This will also give some better transition. But both will use triangles…
The bridge loop feature has some more options to play with. For example profile and smoothness… and especially number of cuts… and the sculpt tool can be helpfull to smooth this out too.
