So im new to blender and sorry if this is a really bad question…and I assume I am doing this wrong anyway but is there a way to merge two objects, without creating insane amounts of extra faces. I decided to make a model, then make its clothing a seperate model, along with his mask another one… Now when merge them all with the Ctrl + j? I think it was, way It creates so many faces. I could honestly go around breaking them all down with removing edgeloops but it makes so many that it would take so much time to do.
Real question, is there a way to merge two objects without make new faces. I want to make it all one object, but they dont need to connect. I want them to move together once rigged but I dont want to deal with all the clutter. Thanks in advance, sorry for my noobieness
Sorry if this is double posted but I cant seem to find my last post so I dont think its there, if someone can see the other one let me know and give me url so I can delete one.
So my issue is, I made my model an outfit which was a separate object from itself. When I try to merge said object so that they can be rigged together, tons of additional faces are added. It isnt the biggest deal ever but im trying to kick back on the clutter, is there any way to merge two objects without actually adding any vertices?
Don’t really know what you mean with ‘creates so many faces’. Joining them should not generate more faces than the sum of the two objects.
So I guess, on one of your objects is a Subdivision Modifier applied. Joining another object with this one then applies the subdiv mod to the new object and therefore generates additional faces…
