Merging UV coordinates in UV Image Editor

Hello,

I’d like to ask whether it’s possible to merge two or more UV coordinates into one in UV Image Editor. To make it clear, I made a picture showing an example model, unwrapped UV map with 18 UV coordinates (which is what I currently have) and UV map with 8 UV coordinates (which is what I’d like to have).

I’m using Blender 2.62 (Linux, 64-bit).

UV stitch tools http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Ref/Release_Notes/2.62/UV_Tools

Just snap the vertices in the UV editor using the snap tool. They will merge automaticly if the snapped vertices in the UV editor represent the same vertice in the 3d view.

You can also select two vertices (or more) in the uv editor and scale them to 0 to merge them

Hope it helps.

edit : too late  The new UV stitch tool is what you want

The UV stitch tool did the trick (took me 1 hour to figure out how it works). Thanks for replies.
