Wow, so beautiful. Reminds me of the snowflake macro photos of Alexey Kljatov (blog, flickr) I came across recently while researching snowflakes for a project. I found his photos breathtaking. Your renders are even more so! Beautiful work!

Edit: just went to your site, read about the snowflake frectal generator, thanks for info.
The overall detail is quite nice and very accurate, however, it does look like you may have set the transmission depth set too low or you don’t have enough polygons to prevent terminator errors (noting the black outlines in various spots).
