Mesh blends with planet during rendering

Hi,
I have a problem rendering spaceship orbiting earth with clouds. When the ship orbits over edge where planet and space meet the ship blends with the planet. Any suggestions?
I have the ship parented to armature so it does not move into planet mesh.

how have you done the halo effect on the planet?

are you using compositing nodes?

Four meshes on top of each other using alpha for the halo effect mesh

it looks like you are compositing the spaceship on top of the planet using a mix node

you might try to use and alpha over

this way the space ship will be “on top” of the planet layer and not show through the spaceship

you could post a pic of the composite node setup or the actual blend file
then I could see exactly what is going inside the file
