Mesh Editing:: Plane needs to fit certian curve...

I need to fit the top plane to the curve in the bottom pic… The darker part b/t the two lighter parts…

I figured that I’d use the warp tool somehow, but is there a specific way to make it fit the curve that I want?

I don’t quite understand what you want to do – fit a strap around a pipe?? copy the x-section of the pipe??

fyi this is going to end up being a trupet. YAMAHA Xeno to be precise… I need to fit that “strap” (the thing on top) about 1/8 of the way around the dark part on the bottom (being the tuning slide). Sorry for the unclear explination, but this is really hard to explain as I don’t know how to do it. I used the warp tool and that worked pretty well…

In Edit mode select the Tuning slide (or just one row of verts in the center of it) and hit Shft-S >> Cursor to Selected. Tab out of edit mode and RMB-Select the Strap holder and Shft-S >> Selected to Cursor.

That will snap the “strap” to the tuning slide, but then I need to bend the “strap” around the slide…

Yes, that’s the question Greybeard asked and you didn’t answer. Would it not be easier to select the verts of the Tuning Slide, Shft-D duplicate them, P seperate them into a new object, scale them a little bigger, Extrude then Alt-S to give it thickness? Select a section of faces and delete them so it has a C shape then extrude one of the open ends to make the little tab with the hole in it for the clip.

I think I got it… I snapped the tuning slide to the grid, then snapped the cursor to the middle (looking down, inside) the tuning slide: then I warped the “strap”
