Is there a way, or perhaps what I am looking for is a script, to fill a mesh intelligently with quads, that will add vertices based on some algorithm (i.e. based on the number of vertices on the edges available) See attached for an example
Fill command only connects vertices across, and beauty fill seems to try and clean it up, but neither add vertices to make it clean.
There’s a script in the 2.5 beta that uses grease pencil to define the shape of the mesh, and does fills according to parameters you set from the tool shelf. I forget what it’s called though. If you check the add-ons window, it will be in there though.
