Mesh flipping when I use control J to join objects

I’m following a Darren Lile’ tutorial on car modeling, and I’m having a problem joining a trunk object to a smoothing mesh. They both have a subdivision and mirror modifiers, but my trunk object flips when I join them. How do I fix this? https://imgur.com/wSfpqjH

You have negative scale, select all your objects before joining them and press Ctrl A, choose All Transforms, this will fix the scale
