Mesh fur ?

I am modeling a wolf for my game, and I was wondering what a good mesh, fur modeling technique would be?.

for a game, You are going to want to bake the hair as an image. I don’t build games, but low poly is Key. Maybe someone else will have a better answer???

I won’t know how, but yes.

I’ve seen some good fur in gaming mags, but what they did was made a copy of the object scaled up slightly with a fur texture mapped on that, and animated around the object.
Do they do this in PC games to?, or was it only a last gen gamecube technique?.
