Mesh Import Question

(azcoder) #1

Simple Newbie Question:
I am trying to access the mesh object with the following:

import Blender
from Blender import Mesh

and I get the following error:
ImportError: cannot import name mesh

I am using the new source download for linux from Blender.org.

Thanks in advance for any help…

Thats;

from blender import NMesh

:wink:

The new python docs at:
http://www.blender.org/modules/documentation/225PythonDoc/NMesh.py.html

Say
"The Blender NMesh module
This module provides access to the raw Mesh data block.

Examples will not be given, as the life time of this module will be most probably limited. Use the Mesh module instead…"

Should I still use NMesh, especially since Mesh doesn’t work?

from Blender import NMesh does work…

Thanks again for your help

are you sure you are using Blender 2.25?

I tried it (on Windows though) but it worked correctly.

Interesting:

import Blender
from Blender import Mesh

Does work with Windows 2.25 and Linux 2.25 Binaries,
but the 2.25 autoconfiscate source doesn’t…

Thanks for your help - now on to more Python scripting
