Do you mean simply make a plane and a mesh into the same mesh object? That would be done by selecting both objects and pressing Ctrl-J.

I don’t think Boolean union with a plane will actually do anything, since I think Boolean union is calculated by the spatial areas of objects.

taling about union
so i tough you were looking for this type of operation in blender

you can joint objects with CTRL j but if you wnat the union or intersection
the boolean operation is the key
mind you blender does have very strong boolean operator so tht’s why i have included anothere one which seems to work better then the one from blender

anyway can you show waht you want to do with a pic if you can

Hello guys,
Thank you so much for the help.
The Ctrl+J is not what I had in mind.
I tried both the boolean operator and the boolean modifier and with both my final mesh comes with the same bug.
I am attaching some pics
The first one shows the mesh object and the plane object that I want to union( I’ve put them apart from one another so you can see them better)
In the second one is the result of my tries
And the third one is why I want to use the boolean. If I don’t make them a single mesh when I add the glass material you can see trough where the two overlap

thanks a bunch

I would try using retopo. First, make the two meshes one object, with overlapping. Then retopo that object. That way, you’ll have much better control over the topology than you would with even the best mesh union scripts.
