mesh reduction

ive been modelling some high vertex meshes lately which as we all know isnt too good for the engine! the thing is lots of the vertexes are for “hidden” shapes inside of the mesh which are the result of warping etc.
id like to know if theres a way of reducing the mesh to just its shell ie the shape going on on the outside. this would be a really useful feature for me but i guess less useful for peole who model properly!


Is it a single mesh? I think if you join multiple meshes with control j the inside information is deleted. You might want to post this in the general section because it involves modeling. Really though, I’ve found the best thing for low poly is to start modeling low poly. You could also go in there and manually delete the stuff and then add vertices and make new faces where the holes are. I’ve done that sometimes.
