"Mesh+Skeleton+weight groups" from maya to blender

hi guys, i need to import something into blender that comes from maya and it has a mesh and a skeleton assign to it with the proper weights, i can’t seem to find a format for this job and everything i find is pretty old…

how can i do this? btw i also need to do the opposite. my problem is that i need to use an importer/exporter only available in maya, but i’m doing all the work in blender, so i need to import something first in maya, pass it to blender, work on it, pass it to maya again and finally export it

As far as I know, importing weight and armature data between any two packages is a huge pain in the ass/nearly impossible. I can’t imagine there’s a good way to do it between Blender and Maya.
