Metal Blender Logo Keychain!

This was my first project in my metalsmithing class. Pretty good for my first attempt with the metal medium (it’s pretty fun!). Sorry for the bad pictures, I’m too broke to get a digital camera so I scanned it. The actual size of the piece is only about 1.5 to 2 inches wide.

How nice! There should be Blender keychains for sale on the e-shop (I wouldn’t hesitate to get me one! )

I think scanning it is better than taking a photograph. More details, with the zooming and all.

And it is pretty good for a fisrt attempt.

pretty good piece of metal, nice and smooth. Could use paint though

That’s cool, I want one!! Sorry I got nothing more useful to say, i know bugger all about metalsmithing.

I hope you weren’t going for photorealism because that is WAY off. :stuck_out_tongue:

It looks great, I love it.
PS: LOL about the scanner thing, I do the same thing for the relatively flat objects.

That would be cool … it’s very remniscent of the official keyring that POV-Ray had for its 10th anniversary: http://www.povray.org/news/keyring/

They still sell those? (will they ever run out?).

And welcome to the forum, by the way…*

According to
https://secure.povray.org/
they don’t sell them anymore, but they keep the keyring site up “for historical purposes”.

Thank you for your welcome … yes, I’m a new member on Elysiun (although I’ve been following it for a while).

“Historical purposes”? Yeah, that keychain was such an important part of our history :stuck_out_tongue:
