Here is this mornings work

Going to try and make a nice brass and copper material today .
Teapot I modeled this morning from a google photo.
I will share all my textures and materials when I am done .
The new tangent shading sure is nice . I used the blurry reflections too.

Going to try and do some flowers too today .

Hey, that’s a pretty nice material! The grout in between the tiles looks a bit goopy, though.

You don’t have a collection of teapots do you? I think it looks good but the material on the teapot to me looks like it would be rough and not smooth. When your finished with the flowers maybe have them sticking out of the teapot? That might be an interesting image.

Thanks Lord of the ring junkie

Here is a more bumpy grout

I gave it a new backdrop too…

Hi linux Pimp!

No, I dont even own a teapot. I just find them useful for rendering tests for new matierials.
I learned to make materials in Lightwave where we used the teapot primitive for the class. I still like using them.

Great idea about the flowers in the teapot  I may do that, Thanks!

All I’ve seen from you is fruit and teapots, you seem to have a thing for those.

Yes, I like texturing fruit too
Helps me relax :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah, “Lightwave… for the class” -that explains a lot (you are pretty good at this stuff).

Nice work. I liked your fruits too. Would like to see that .blend too.

@CD: It’s good practice, you should try it sometime. (I’m serious, not meant as a dig).
.

I hope Blender is better than vodka for you. There is a material library at www.blender.org that has metals for you.

Oh ok. That makes sense. I just saw a lot of teapots in your work so I though you had a thing for them. Sorry for the assumption. Although I can think of a lot worser things to collect then teapots.

Lower the specularity on the grout, it still looks kind of wet.

Thanks Larry , I like sharing my work here.

Thanks papa smurf! those will be great reference points for me! I like doing my own so I understand all the nuts and bolts.

Hi Linuxpimp, I guesss I do have a 3d collection now

Ok lord of the rings junkie, how is this?:

Think I will work on the specular map a bit more, and call it done.
Best copper In my whole life

++Specular map and Bumpmap.

I actually like the tiled base most in this. The wood is excellent. I don’t like the copper so much. Copper is much more rich in color

wow, its a gurl.

Hey, i don’t know. i think texturing and lighting go hand in hand. so you might want to make sure your lighting is top notch. Maybe a black background might do the trick.

the scene/pot looks 3D.

Much better.

Hey that loosk really good!
