Metal Texture/Material for Game

Hello everyone. Ive been making an modular game map for a tank-type game that a friend is making. The textures I’ve been making have been stinking. I’m pretty new to texturing so that’s probably why. Anyway I was wondering how to make a good Metal material for the game engine. So for I’ve been putting slight color variation in the diffuse with some cloudy noise and putting extra detail in the specular map to give it that sort of bare/brushed metal look. It can be good if I put on a reflection map but otherwise it stinks. Any suggestions? I’ve been pretty conservative with the specular intensity and hardness values, would more of that be in order? Here are some pics of what I’m going for. The areas circled in red are what I want my material to look like.
