Many of my recent abstract renders have been made with shiny transparent or reflective materials. Here there’s still some shinyness, but made to be like metal, not glass or mirror. The structure is also slightly different, not eyecandy cubic or spherical structures, but a 3D grid with a glow on the centers of many of them. Providing a different atmosphere from the other renders.

Made in 2.42.

looks pretty good

Now get the noise out and it looks good.

One of your best in terms of composition, focused palette, and execution of concept.

Keep building on every little success

It’s not really like other abstract art. Most abstract art looks like it’s made by airheads. I’m not talking about anyone in particular, though.

This is a step in the right direction.

Nice composition. Lighting could maybe use a bit of AO, or some softer shadows, but that is all I can think of.

This is definitely my favorite abstract piece from you- right to the desktop. I only noticed one flaw. It looks like a texture is stretching in the upper right. So, how did you make the glow? Halos? Nodes? Plugin?

Actually it does have AO, though it is very weak. I tried to get contrast without huge all white or black areas.

Alden, the textures are procedural and I did the texture scale so it has the appearence of lines.

Halos make the glow.
