Metallic Texture

Hey all,

I’m new to the Blender Community, but so far I love it. Currently I’m working on modelling an older version iPod mini to practice lighting and rendering, but I’m having trouble reproducing the metallic backside of the iPod.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to solve this?

sorry if i am opening up an old thread but i was just browsing and i can help… when you go to materials options there is the raymirror option, select it and click raymirror button and then set it to whatever reflectiveness level you want and viola, you have a mattallic bit in your render!

Of course, you also need an environment for the metal to reflect, otherwise it won’t look right. An environment map or a scene filled with other objects will do.
