methods for modeling a realistic human face

i’m a beginner and i’m decent at best at modeling faces. however, the only method i know how to use is sculpting it from a multires cube. can u guys point me in the right direction i’m looking for other methods on modeling ( human and not so human ) faces.

definately check out torqs ’ a better face tutorial ’ but other than that, there is box modelling, which means modelling with subsurf on, but, it’s good to have some practice, at just building stuff vertex by vertex, and careful positioning. construct a sort of frame of ribbons in key ares, then fill in the gaps, make some loop cuts, move stuff around. you might also want to check out the joan of arc tutorial for 3ds max, which is done this way.
