An original character I’ve been working on for the past month.
The main idea was to combine the Ghibli style with watercolor.
I spent most of the time creating suitable ‘cartoon’ materials and lighting, which helped achieve a 2D-like effect.
that is super amazing !
Outstanding! Immensely well done.
Two things though: On some shots her left eyeball is pointing in a very unnatural direction (I’m pretty positive no human could ever push their eye’s apple that far towards either corner of their eye).
The other thing is imho it would be better if there was always a highlight in either eye. They immediately look dead otherwise.
I remember reading on FX-Guide some anecdote from someone involved with making miniature for whichever JurassicPark movie it was. The gist of what they said was they struggled with making the eyes look right, until they eventually incorporated little steel balls (like from a ball breaing) into them, which provided a visible highlight.
greetings, Kologe
Ahh you are absolutely right. The worst thing is that in the early version the reflections in eyes were visible all the time, but stupid me decided to turn them off
Wow, that is fantastic! Great work! One of the best of that style I’ve ever seen.
Beautiful work- would love to see a breakdown of how you did it
Excellent work there - lip shading + movement in particular, great job.
Amazingly amazing!
Nice work friend
The 60fps cough me off guard . Gives it a life-like movement look; but with watercolors. Great work!
Beautiful! =)
Personally, I’m okay with “the lack of catch-light” when the character’s eyes are plainly in the shade of her hat.
Meanwhile: this is an astonishingly successful venture. The character has personality, and the poses are well-chosen. The animation depicts a very believable person, often in subtle ways.
Looks great, the modelling and the texture painting. You really got the Ghibli feel;
nice work, I like stylized shaders.
I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
Impressive result.
noice nice to see some NPR in blender
Gorgeous!
The animation is also top notch!
