I just came across an interesting piece of software being developed in the MSR (Microsoft Research) Labs called Photosynth. It searches the web for real-life pictures which it stitches together, which can eventually turn into some really neat stuff, like automatically generated 3d models of different parts of the world. Check it out at http://labs.live.com/photosynth/.
Fascinating, as my favorite Vulcan would say. Looks really cool, thanks for sharing.
Woah - tie it into security cams and you can have 3D models of everyone in New York and London.
